Harvest Wilds is a Hacksaw Gaming cluster slot released in February 2022: a 7×7 field of vegetables where groups of 5 or more pay, wins cascade, and sunflower Wilds carry multipliers that multiply each other — up to x256 on one win. There are no free spins. Instead, water drops store respins and Feature Spins sell spins with guaranteed seeds. RTP is 96.35%, volatility is high, bets run from 0.20 to 100 and the top win is 10,000×.

How the grid pays
A win needs 5 or more identical symbols touching each other horizontally or vertically. The winning symbols disappear, new ones drop in and the grid is checked again, so one spin can produce a chain of wins. Clusters pay more the bigger they get:
- the top symbol, corn, pays 0.5× the bet for 5 and 200× for 15 or more;
- the other premium vegetables pay 75× to 200× for 15+;
- the low symbols pay 20× to 30× for 15+.
Small clusters pay little; the money is in large clusters and multipliers. How cluster pays compare with lines and scatter pays is shown in our pay systems guide, and how a cascade chain counts as one spin in our cascades guide.
Sunflower Wilds
- Seeds land on the grid and can grow into sunflowers — Hacksaw’s Hoppers™ multiplier symbol, which is also Wild.
- A sunflower Wild starts with a x2 multiplier and can grow to x4.
- Up to four sunflowers can be on the grid at once, and they move around it.
- When several sunflowers are part of one win, their multipliers are multiplied: two at x4 give x16, four at x4 give x256.
This is the opposite of the added Wild multipliers in Lobster House or The Dog House, where three x3 Wilds give x9, not x27. Multiplied values make big wins rarer but much larger — the difference is explained in our multipliers guide.
Water drops and fertilizer
- Water drops fill the Rainmeter. Each drop is worth one respin, played after the cascades of a spin have ended; up to 5 can be stored.
- Fertilizer adds +1 to the multiplier of one sunflower.
- Epic Fertilizer adds +1 to every sunflower on the grid.
Respins let sunflowers that are already in place, with their multipliers, take part in more cascades — which is how the game builds towards its larger wins without a bonus round.
Harvest Wilds has no free spins and therefore no bonus frequency. The base game, the respins and the multiplier Wilds carry the whole 96.35% return.
Feature Spins
Where they are offered, Feature Spins are more expensive spins that guarantee seeds on the grid:
| Option | Price per spin | Guarantee | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feature Spins 1 | 5× | 2 seeds | 96.27% |
| Feature Spins 2 | 25× | 3 seeds | 96.38% |
| Feature Spins 3 | 100× | 4 seeds | 96.34% |
A seed is not guaranteed to become a sunflower. All three options return about the same as normal play, so they change the spread of results, not the average cost — the same pattern as in other Hacksaw games, compared in our bonus buy guide. They are not available in the UK.
Harvest Wilds against other cluster games we review
| Harvest Wilds | Merge Up | Gator Hunters | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grid and pays | 7×7, clusters of 5+ | Clusters of 4+ | 6×5, 8+ anywhere |
| RTP | 96.35% | 97.25% | 96.11% |
| Multipliers | Sunflower Wilds, multiplied, up to x256 | Cell multipliers up to x128 (free spins) | Revolver bullets up to x2,000 |
| Free spins | None | Yes | Yes |
| Max win | 10,000× | 5,000× | 25,000× |
Harvest Wilds is the one to pick if you dislike waiting for a bonus that may never come: everything happens in the base game. Merge Up returns more on paper, and Gator Hunters has a far higher ceiling. Hacksaw’s own Bullets and Bounty is a calmer, line-based alternative, and the original Born Wild, at 93.80%, shows how far RTPs can differ within one studio.
Pros and cons
Who should play it, and who should skip it
Good fit if you:
- like cluster games where the action stays in the base game;
- enjoy multipliers that multiply rather than add;
- want Feature Spins at a moderate 5× entry price where they are allowed.
Probably not for you if you:
- want a free-spins round to chase;
- prefer frequent mid-sized wins — small clusters pay very little;
- play in the UK and want the Feature Spins.
