Pragmatic Play Slots: The Dog House Formula From 2019 to Lobster House

Pragmatic Play supplies slots, live casino, bingo, virtual sports and a sportsbook to online casinos through one integration, and says it is certified in more than 40 jurisdictions. A good way to understand its slots is to follow one formula through the years. We have reviewed two games built on the same one — additive multiplier Wilds that turn sticky in free spins: the 2019 original and its 2025 seafood relative. This page compares them and shows what the formula does in numbers.

Pragmatic Play slots we have reviewed

Slot Released RTP (lower versions) Hit frequency Free spins about 1 in Bonus buy Max win
Lobster House Sep 2025 96.51% (95.51%, 94.50%) 28.65% 112 100×, 400× 4,000×
The Dog House May 2019 96.51% (95.51%) 27.55% 180 None 6,750×

The formula, step by step

  1. Wilds land only on reels 2, 3 and 4, each with a x2 or x3 multiplier.
  2. Several Wilds on one line are added, so the most a line can get is x9.
  3. Three Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 start free spins; a 3×3 reveal sets the count between 9 and 27.
  4. In free spins every Wild sticks with its multiplier until the end. There are no retriggers.

Why added multipliers behave differently from multiplied ones is shown in our multipliers guide; how this round compares with other free-spins designs, in our free spins guide.

Same rules, different trade-offs

With identical Wild rules and the same default RTP, the two games differ only in how the return is split:

  • Lobster House reaches free spins 1.6 times as often (1 in 112 against 1 in 180), adds a base-game Scatter respin and sells two bonus versions, including 400× Super Free Spins with x15 and x25 Wilds.
  • The Dog House keeps the bigger ceiling — 6,750× against 4,000× — and has no buy at all.

Over 200 spins, the chance of seeing no free spins is 16.63% on Lobster House and 32.91% on The Dog House. Buys are not available in the UK; what they cost on average elsewhere is in our bonus buy guide.

Both games come in lower RTP versions, and Lobster House in two of them. At 94.50% instead of 96.51%, the average loss on €100 staked rises from €3.49 to €5.50. The game’s information screen shows the version your casino runs.

Beyond the formula: 3 Buzzing Wilds

Not every Pragmatic slot follows The Dog House. In 3 Buzzing Wilds (2023, 96.03%, up to 5,000×) three Wild features — random, expanding and surrounding — fire at random in the base game, and in free spins you choose one of them for the whole round, with every Wild staying in place. There are no Wild multipliers, and free spins come about once in 253 spins.
