Sugar Merge Up is BGaming’s candy-themed version of the Merge Up engine, released on 31 March 2026. Underneath it is Merge Up 2 — the same 6×6 grid, the same merging clusters, cell multipliers up to x128 and a 10,000× ceiling — with two additions: Booster modes that put multipliers on the grid before a spin, and a Bubblegum in place of the bomb. RTP is 97%, volatility very high.

How it pays
Merging candies
A cluster of 4 or more matching sweets pays; some of its symbols then disappear and the rest move up one level. There are nine symbol levels with the Scatter above them as the tenth. The top-paying sweets are the orange, red and pink candies and a purple gummy bear.
Cell multipliers
Every cell in a win is marked. The next win on a marked cell gets x2, and each further win doubles it, up to x128; the multipliers of the cells in one cluster are added together. The marks last until the end of the spin in the base game and until the end of the round in free spins.
The Bubblegum
A winning cluster of level-8 sweets creates a Bubblegum. It clears the 8 symbols around it, raises those cells’ multipliers by one step (x2 becomes x4) and then turns into a Scatter.
Free spins
| Scatters | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free spins | 12 | 15 | 20 | 30 |
Scatters can come from a Bubblegum as well as land on their own. Three or more Scatters during the round add 5 spins.

Boosters, bonus buys and Chance x2
This is where Sugar Merge Up differs from its parent. Six options sit in one menu, and only one can be active at a time:

| Option | Price | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Chance x2 | 1.2× bet per spin | Better odds of free spins |
| Random Booster | 10× bet per spin | Random multipliers up to x128 placed on the grid each spin |
| Booster x16 | 40× bet per spin | Every cell starts the spin at x16 |
| Sugar Joy | 100× | Standard free spins |
| Sugar Euphoria | 250× | Free spins with x2 on every cell from the start |
| Sugar Boom | 500× | Free spins with 3–9 starting Bubblegums, whose multipliers carry into the round |
Boosters are charged on every spin while they are switched on: ten spins with Booster x16 at a €1 base bet cost €400. Not every market offers buys and boosters.

Pros and cons
Who should play it, and who should skip it
Good fit if you:
- like the Merge Up 2 engine and want to try Booster spins;
- prefer a lighter, candy look to gems;
- want to choose between six ways of speeding the game up.
Probably not for you if you:
- chase the best RTP — Merge Up 2’s default is higher;
- need frequent free spins — about one in 409 spins;
- might leave a 40× Booster switched on longer than planned.
